Pressure washing & exterior cleaning in London

Send photos of the path, patio, steps or wall and the rough size, and providers who cover London can quote. We’re new in London, so there may be few quotes at first; requesting costs nothing either way.

What to send

Three things that get you an accurate quote.

Exterior jobs are quoted from what you send, so a provider can only price the surface they can see.

  1. 1

    What, and how big

Driveway, patio, path, wall, decking or steps, and the rough size in metres. Paces are fine.

  2. 2

    The surface

Block paving, slabs, natural stone, tarmac, concrete, render, brick or timber. The surface decides the pressure and the method.

  3. 3

    Photos

A wide shot and a close-up of the worst part. Add a short video if it’s a large area or split over several levels.

Prefer someone to look first? Your first in-person visit for a job is free (one free visit per postcode every 7 days), and a quote after a visit stays valid for up to 3 months.

Clean, not damaged

The right pressure for the surface. Agreed before anyone starts.

Pressure washing looks simple, which is why it’s easy to get wrong. Too much pressure on soft sandstone, old mortar or render can do damage that no amount of cleaning undoes. Block paving loses its jointing sand. Timber decking furs up.

That’s why exterior jobs on Cleanifiq are quoted, not auto-priced. You describe the surface and send photos, and providers quote for your driveway, not an average one. Everything they’ve committed to is in the quote; anything else is agreed in the app first.

  • Quoted from your photos

Providers see the surface and the dirt before they name a price.

  • Method agreed up front

Pressure, soft-wash or hand cleaning, chosen for the surface and written into the quote.

  • Payment held

Your money stays with Cleanifiq until the job is completed on the platform.

  • Reviews from paid jobs

Every review on a provider’s profile comes from a booked, paid job.

Agree these in the messages before the work

  • whether re-sanding the block-paving joints is included
  • whether moss or algae treatment is included, or is an extra
  • where the run-off water goes
  • that you’ll provide access to an outside tap and power: without them the job can’t start, and a no-access visit counts as a cancellation

Honest limit: deep oil stains, rust and tyre marks are often permanent in porous surfaces. Your provider will tell you what’s realistic from the photos.

Free to request. You only book if a quote suits you.

What’s usually quoted for.

Providers quote for the surfaces in your request. These are the common ones.

  • Driveways and paths

    • Block paving
    • Slabs and concrete
    • Tarmac
  • Patios and steps

    • Slabs
    • Natural stone, with the pressure set for the stone
  • Walls

    • Garden and low boundary walls
    • Render, soft-washed where appropriate
  • Decking and fences

    • Timber and composite, at low pressure
  • Graffiti

    • Walls and gates
    • Shutters and shopfronts

Not included unless quoted

  • Re-sanding or re-sealing
  • Moss or algae treatment
  • Roof or gutter cleaning
  • Work at height
  • Waste removal

The scope is whatever the accepted quote says. Anything outside it is agreed in the platform first.

Graffiti removal

Graffiti on a wall, gate or shopfront?

Choose graffiti removal when you request a quote, and send a photo plus the surface: brick, stone, render, painted, metal or glass. The method depends on both.

Removal from porous stone may leave a faint shadow, and your provider will say so before they start. Business premises in London can be invoiced on a paid business plan.

From photos to a clean surface.

  1. 01

    Send photos

Describe the area and the surface, with a wide shot and a close-up.

  2. 02

    Providers quote

Providers who cover your part of London price it, or ask to visit first.

  3. 03

    Agree the method

Pressure, treatment, sanding and run-off, settled in the messages before you accept.

  4. 04

    Done, then paid

Your payment is held by Cleanifiq and released after the job is completed.

How much does pressure washing cost in London?

Each provider quotes from your photos and the size of the area, so there’s no price list, and we don’t publish an average: there aren’t enough exterior jobs on Cleanifiq yet to make one fair.

The main factors are the area, the surface, how dirty it is, access to water and power, and whether sanding or treatment is included. Each provider sets a minimum call-out.

What affects the price

  • Area in square metres, and how many separate surfaces
  • The surface: soft stone and render take longer than concrete
  • How dirty it is: years of moss or a seasonal clean
  • Access to an outside tap and power
  • Re-sanding, sealing or moss treatment, if you want them

Why quotes differ

Providers bring different kit and price their time differently: a rotary surface attachment on a large driveway is quicker than a lance, and a soft-wash for render takes longer than a jet. Compare the method and what’s included, not only the total.

Protected from request to sign-off.

  • Your payment is held

You choose at checkout: pay a deposit (20% of the job, or the provider’s minimum call-out fee if that’s higher) or pay in full. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due by 7:30am on the day of the job. Your money goes to Cleanifiq, not the provider, and release to the provider starts the day after the job, once they’ve completed it on the platform.

  • Not right? Tell us within 48 hours

Tell us within 48 hours of the job, with photos or a short video of what isn’t right. Your provider gets 48 working hours to come back and put it right at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it’s settled. If they can’t or won’t, you choose: the value of the unfinished items back as a refund or Cleanifiq credit, or a new, smaller job for just those items with another provider (you see the price before confirming anything).

  • Checked before they quote

Before a provider can take bookings we check photo ID, proof of address and public liability insurance, plus a criminal record check (Basic Disclosure Scotland or equivalent) and right to work where it applies. For companies we check a director’s ID, the business address, public liability insurance and Companies House status. Documents with expiry dates are re-checked when they expire. Every review on a provider’s profile comes from a booked, paid job. Cleanifiq’s insurance covers a new provider’s first three jobs while their own cover is being verified.

  • Keep it on the platform

Always pay through Cleanifiq, including for anything added on the day. Work paid for privately falls outside our guarantee, our insurance and our dispute resolution.

Pressure washing in London

Stock brick, stucco and a short drive in.

Cleanifiq is only beginning in London and has no completed pressure-washing jobs here yet. If a provider covering your postcode can take the job on, they’ll quote; if not, you’ll know quickly.

  • Stock brick and painted stucco

Victorian and Georgian terraces often have soft London stock brick or painted stucco fronts, both easily marked by high pressure. Say what the surface is; if the house is listed, check with your borough before any façade cleaning.

  • Front gardens and steps

Many jobs are a tiled front path, a set of steps or a small paved front garden. These are quick to clean but slow to reach, so say where water and power are.

  • Parking and charges

Parking is controlled in most boroughs, central addresses can mean the Congestion Charge, and the ULEZ covers every borough. Providers may include this in the quote, so say where they can park and unload.

FAQ

Pressure Washing in London: your questions

Yes. Providers on trade services bring equipment suited to the job. You provide access to an outside tap and electricity; without them the job can’t start.
Not if the pressure and method suit the surface, which is why we ask for the surface type and photos. Agree in the messages whether re-sanding the joints is included.
Surface moss usually comes off with washing. Treatment to slow regrowth is an extra if your provider offers it, so agree it in the quote.
Usually, with the right method, but porous stone may keep a faint shadow. Send a photo for an honest answer.
It can. Providers price their own travel and may build parking or the Congestion Charge into the quote. Say where they can park and unload, and ask in the messages if a quote doesn’t make it clear.
For jobs that need seeing first, some providers offer an in-person visit. Your first visit for a job is free (one free visit per postcode every 7 days); a second provider’s visit fee is shown before you book it and refunded if they cancel. A quote given after a visit is valid for up to 3 months.
