Cleaning Services in London: we’re just getting started

Few London providers so far

We're building a network of vetted providers in London, and it's early days. Send a request and you'll see whether anyone covers your postcode. If someone does, you get live prices and your payment is held until the job's done; if nobody does yet, it costs you nothing.

Requests are free. You only pay if you accept a quote.

How a London request works, honestly.

  1. Send your request

Describe the job, or pick the rooms and cleaning level for a fixed-price clean. It takes a few minutes and needs no card.

  2. See if anyone covers you

If a provider covers your postcode, their price arrives with their rating and reviews. If none does yet, nothing happens and nothing is charged.

  3. Book, and we hold the money

Accept a quote and you pay Cleanifiq, not the provider. They are paid after the job, once any problem has been put right.

Where we are in London

Plainly: London is new for us. Cleanifiq grew up in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and in London we have very few providers so far. We can’t promise someone for every postcode or every date, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

What we can promise is the same platform: providers checked before they take bookings, prices you see before you commit, and money held until the work is done. Every London request also tells us where people need help, which is where we go looking for providers next.

How we check providers, line by line

No vague "we vet our providers". This is the list every provider in London goes through before they can take a booking, so you can judge it yourself.

Individuals

  • Photo ID
  • Proof of address
  • Public liability insurance
  • Criminal record check (Basic Disclosure Scotland or equivalent)
  • Right to work, where it applies

Companies

  • A director's ID
  • Business address
  • Public liability insurance
  • Companies House status
  • Documents with an expiry date are re-checked when they expire, not checked once and forgotten.
  • A new provider's first three jobs are covered by Cleanifiq's insurance while their own cover is verified.
  • Every review on a provider profile comes from a booked, paid job.

It isn't bulletproof. No check is. That's why every review on a profile comes from a paid job, and why your payment waits with us until the work is done.

What will it cost in London?

We don’t publish London prices yet, because we haven’t had enough London jobs to give a fair figure. Prices here are set the same way as everywhere else on Cleanifiq.

The only reliable number is the one a London provider sends for your job, and a request is free.

How prices are set

  • Cleanifiq doesn't set the price. Each provider sets their own hourly rate (at least £17.00 an hour), and our pricing engine turns the rooms, appliances and cleaning level you pick into a fixed price before you book.
  • Quote jobs (handyman, commercial, pressure washing, decontamination, custom quotes) are priced by each provider from your description and photos.
  • Hourly bookings are charged at the rate the provider sets, typically £17.00–£25.00 an hour, for a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Same-day and next-day bookings can carry a surcharge that the provider sets. You see it in the price before you confirm.
  • There is no booking fee: the price you see is the price you pay. No subscription, no minimum spend for private customers.
  • If your provider finds more than you described, they send an additional payment request through the platform with a description and a price. You accept or decline it, and it expires after 1 hour; decline it and they clean what you booked.

Your money is protected. Here's exactly how.

We hold the money

You choose at checkout: pay a deposit (20% of the job, or the provider's minimum call-out fee if that's higher) or pay in full. If you pay a deposit, the balance is due by 7:30am on the day of the job; unpaid by then, the booking counts as cancelled. Your money goes to Cleanifiq, not the provider. Release to the provider starts the day after the job, once they've completed it on the platform.

We fix it, or you get the value back

Tell us within 48 hours, with photos or a short video of what isn't right (the terms' outer limit is 7 working days, after which the job counts as accepted). Your provider has 48 working hours to come back and put it right, at no cost to you, and we hold their payment until it's settled. If they can't or won't, you choose: we return the value of the unfinished items (worked out from your original quote) as a refund or Cleanifiq credit, we set up a new, smaller job for just those items with another provider (you see the price before confirming anything), or both.

If they cancel, you're never out of pocket

If your provider cancels, you never pay a cancellation fee. You choose a replacement provider (you see their price first) or a full refund. If you rebook the same service for the same date, any same-day or next-day surcharge on the replacement is covered.

The full wording is in our terms for private customers.

Moving out of a London rental?

A few English rules and London realities that shape a clean.

The clean is your call, the condition is not

The Tenant Fees Act 2019 stops landlords and agents in England from charging you for a professional clean. What you owe is the property back in the condition you received it, fair wear and tear aside. Get that wrong and cleaning can be deducted from your deposit, which your landlord must have protected with the Deposit Protection Service, mydeposits or the Tenancy Deposit Scheme within 30 days. Disagree with a deduction and the scheme’s free dispute service settles it on the evidence.

Limescale is part of the job

Most of London has hard water, so taps, shower screens and kettles build limescale quickly. Pick "scrubbing required" for bathrooms that haven’t been descaled in a while, so the price covers the time it actually takes.

Access and parking

Concierge desks, fob entry and permit-only streets are normal in London. Add access notes to your request and choose the right parking option, so a provider can price the job properly.

FAQ

London questions, answered

A few, and not yet in most areas. London is new for us, so we cannot promise someone for every postcode or date. Send a request: if a provider covers your postcode you will get a price, and if nobody does, it costs you nothing.
Nothing is charged. You only pay when you accept a quote, so a request without quotes costs nothing. It does show us where London customers need help, and that is where we look for providers next.
All of them: end of tenancy, house, deep, carpet, oven, window and after builders cleaning, cleaning by the hour, handyman, commercial cleaning, pressure washing, decontamination and custom quotes. Fixed-price services are priced from the rooms and level you choose; the rest are quoted by each provider.
Not in England. The Tenant Fees Act 2019 bans landlords and agents from charging you for a professional clean. You still have to return the property in the condition you received it, fair wear and tear aside, or the cost of cleaning can come out of your deposit.

Before a provider can take bookings we check photo ID, proof of address and public liability insurance, plus a criminal record check (Basic Disclosure Scotland or equivalent) and right to work where it applies. For companies we check a director's ID, the business address, public liability insurance and Companies House status. Documents with expiry dates are re-checked when they expire, and a new provider's first three jobs are covered by Cleanifiq's insurance while their own cover is verified. Every review on a provider's profile comes from a booked, paid job. No check is perfect, so read the reviews and pick someone with a track record for your type of job.
Please do. Apply through the Become a provider page. We check your documents before you can take bookings, you set your own prices, and requests from the areas you cover reach you once you are live.
